Reed Bunting (Female)

It was lovely to see a pair of these sweet little birds. This female is very different but just as pretty I think as the male in yesterday's post.
Hopefully they'll nest and raise young.
A lovely shot Sue !

Lovely shot, I'm green with envy at your bird shots, we don't seem to get any pretty birds down in the South East.

@beryl Thank you Beryl.

@bigmxx Thank you Michelle. Do you live anywhere near Rainham Marshes RSPB reserve. When we visit our daughter Martha in Romford, we often go to Rainham Marshes. There's always something to see. When we visit our son in Sanderstead I sometimes see ring necked parakeets and then I get really excited. Also, you probably get starlings. We don't get those here.

@happysnaps This was a good one for me too Valerie. I've never seen one of these so close to home.

@merrelyn Bunting is the family and it's a reed bunting because it lives among the reeds. The yellowhammer which I've posted before is also a member of the bunting family.

@oldjosh Thank you Margaret.

@susiemc I'm not far from Rainham in Kent but I've not come across the RSPB reserve (I know there's one on the Isle of Sheppy at Elmey) I'll have to seek it out.
