This was taken seconds after I took the photo which I posted yesterday. As I was looking through the viewfinder a second bird suddenly appeared in the frame.
Jays are beautiful, but they are always searching for eggs of other birds, plundering nests etc. A few days ago I saw them stealing the eggs of a thrush...

@rosiekind Thank you Rosie, for the comment and fav. I think they must be young ones because we only ever get them on the ground underneath the bird feeders at this time of year.
