A shot that I had forgotten to post in June when I went "off-island" for my quick trip to Buffalo, NY. Driving from Charlevoix to Traverse City takes you through very typical northern Michigan farmland. This scene is across from Friske Orchards and Farm Stand that is a great place to pick up dried cherries, wonderful donuts, and a range of Michigan food products (jellies and jams, sauces and dressings). One of Jim's and my traditions is that driving home to Chicago from the island, we stop there to pick up donuts and/or apple fritters for the ride home. The drive is quite beautiful for its rolling hills, farms, silos, fruit stands, etc.
@tryingforsighs Thanks Rachel -- I agree with the other worldly -- those clouds over the church were pretty amazing.
@parisouailleurs @jaynspain Thanks Helene and Jayne!
@michaelelliott THanks Michael
Thank you so much for 'finding' this post on an older date! I really appreciate your comments. I think northern Michigan is very special and it's a treat to share parts of it with you all over the country and the world. Many thanks for stopping to look and comment.
