Taken under the Lake Street Elevated tracks, using the borrowed fisheye. Posting to fill a hole in my flashofred-2015 b&w month for February, though taken yesterday.
@genesis_one Big smile, Corrie! I admit I'm reluctant to have to give it up so it's now high on my wish list. I think I can use this borrowed one another few weeks so I'm researching now - hoping to find a used one at a reasonable price. It has been a very fun lens! Fits my obsession with structure well.
Great effect again...I get the impression that meticulous choice of POV and extreme care during composition is of the utmost importance with this lens - and you do it so well. The "hard" HDR B&W effect suits the image well.
What an amazing photo, Taffy. I love the fisheye you are using and your processing. I agree, sell your photo and buy a fisheye for yourself. Love this in B&W. FAV
Love the processing in this one which together with the extreme view created by the wide angle PoV makes for a very dramatic image... I like this a lot Taffy.
I would love to try this lens out on the dogs I can imagine it would look pretty funny, I'll have to check out how much it would cost to hire for a day :)
This lens is really working for you, with your eye for structure and lines. What a cool image! I like the high key effects, combined with the contrasts and structures. This lens may be working its way onto my wish list for the future! :)
@rosiekerr I agree -- you also like to emphasize structure and I think you'd love this kind of lens. It's clearly limited to 'a look' and would get old after awhile, but gosh, it's so much fun to push my thinking in terms of composition that I highly recommend it. To me, it's been all about discovering structure -- not sure how it will work in nature, but at some point I want to try.
I like the way the fisheye enhances the depth by exaggerating the convergence of the track. Also very much enjoy the treatment you have applied. as it emphasies the graphic effect of the track.
