Surprise find

I was very surprised to find this little patch of Italian Arum (checked on 3 plant id apps) in our little nature reserve. Such a bright flash of red, I couldn't miss it.
I've never seen anything like these before. Fascinating!

I think we call them lords and ladies - the website I've just looked at says the Italian one has green/white variegated leaves, whereas ours with plain leaves (or with purple spots) is arum maculatum. No leaves showing at all here!

@serendypyty @onewing @bubblequeen @fbailey Thanks all. They stood out like a sore thumb amongst all the greenery.

Thanks @anniesue that makes more sense than Italian but that's what kept coming up on my apps. I hunted for a leaf but couldn't find any.

@tinley23 you could put it on next year's calendar to repeat the visit in Spring to see what you could find!
