I took this shot in Camden Market and as you can probably tell from his expression I got very little out of him at the time. So when I heard about the competition I felt I should get his permission to submit it and managed to track him down, and to my surprise he was absolutely charming and encouraged me to enter. I discovered that he used to be a costume designer for the theatre and now works in an antique shop on weekends and in Somerset House during the week.....we now keep in touch.
When people on 365 ask for votes I usually go check the competition out but I won't vote for their's unless I actually think it is worthy of winning. I had no trouble voting for your picture here, even though some of the other finalists had great works too.
Done and I can say it is easily the most striking photograph in the bunch. Hope you win. I would have voted for your photo even if I had just seen the competition and looked at them without knowing one of them was a 365ers work! Congrats on a fantastic photo!
Done! I remember this photo, and it's in my faves. I love it - it's completely mesmerizing! I'm so glad to hear that you've become friends with the subject and see him once in awhile. You never know where one photo will take you! Good luck, and I hope you win! :)
