With a pair of these living in a palm next to the lanai, we're sell acquainted with their "...variety of squawks, clicks, whistles, growls and chirps..." as described in the Hawaii Nature Journal. I recall that, when I was young, Myna's were sold in pet shops and learned to talk beautifully! I'm not sure that they are still sold as pets. Not everyone likes them (I read), but they're comical birds to watch as they hop around. Personally, I'm delighted to see them each morning, and to provide me with a photo opportunity or two.
@pyrrhula I had to google the name, Ferry... I've heard of "honey creepers" here, but they show them on the island of Kauai that is more lush and forested than it is here. I've been leaving bread on the lanai (porch) table, and we're attracting myna, sparrows, finches and just now, a red-headed cardinal! I certainly enjoy watching them!
