Still looking festive in the West End. Wandering towards New Bond Street to see if a branch of Mont Blanc was open. It wasn't.
After a morning of getting stuff done (Dave shopping, me cooking up a big soup to use up our roots mountain), we went into town to the newish Marylebone Theatre, passing the hordes at 221B Baker Street, to see A Sherlock Carol - one of Dave's Christmas presents. Very entertaining and rather clever. Theatre part of the very attractive Rudolf Steiner House, built in an arts and crafts style.
Walked to Selfridge's after where Dave had a look at their eyewateringly expensive Mont Blanc fountain pens. They didn't have quite what he wanted, so his bank balance is safe for the moment. A meal in the Brasserie of Light which we went to just before Christmas. Very good again - scallops and veggie burger and a tequila prosecco cocktail. Shared the chocolate pudding once again.
3 good things
1. Ordered a fob for the main entrance to mum's flats - that should make visiting a bit easier.
2. I enjoyed a mulled wine at the theatre - always gets one into the festive spirit.
3. Window man has got in touch to arrange to come and measure the flat windows as he said he would - a promising start.
Mont Blanc Pen - very nice, I'm still waiting to receive one from hubby 😆
