October rainbow challenge - Week 4: People - Sunday: Purple
Having sported my summer wardrobe on Thursday for the purposes of the rainbow challenge - here's a winter wardrobe shot, handily in purple.
A contrast this morning weather-wise – very drizzly and much warmer. Fruit emerged at breakfast today, but they giveth with one hand and taketh away with the other – only scrambled eggs for the veggies this morning.
Then workshops looking at the tune we were going to perform – well actually two as we were doing one with our little group and another together with one of the other groups (Will Atkinson’s schottische and Hunting the hare). We decided to call ourselves the Kitchen Party as we were rehearsing in the little room by the kitchen, and somebody managed to snaffle aprons and chef’s hats for us to wear on stage.
Lunch was a full roast – nut roast with all the trimmings and gravy – plus a great apple and rhubarb crumble. Then the afternoon showcases with all the little ensembles playing, the callers calling dances and the dancers dancing to dances they’d created. A bit nervewracking to do our little number but the kitchen gear raised a smile.
Then I got my stuff and walked down to the bus stop on the main road – and waited for 10 mins or so in the drizzle as the cars zoomed past – rather a lonely bus stop. In fact, the driver said he was surprised to see anyone at it.
Train from Taunton was busy, but normally so, no hordes this time thankfully.
