London Olympics 2012 10 years on - revisiting photos from the time.
The other less well-known Olympic volunteer army - all over the streets of London and at stations, handing out maps, information and smiles.
We'd come to the Royal Albert Hall for a lovely prom with Marin Alsop conducting the Sao Paolo SO in a programme of American-themed music: Dvorak's New World, Copland's Fanfare and some more unusual pieces and encores from Brazilian composer Villa-Lobos, Argentinian Ginastera and others.
I'd noted that it was probably the most badly behaved prom audience I'd ever encountered: clapping between movements even though obvious that the conductor found it irksome; somebody clapping before the music had finished; a cheesy mobile phone going off; people talking through the music; a latecomer coming in with what sounded like steel toecaps on his shoes; and the usual consumptive coughing.
