Favorite picture of your project January 19-25 and Why

January 26th, 2013
Post your favorite photo of your own project from this past week to share with those that may not otherwise see it. Lets also put WHY or WHAT about it you like.
There were some really great photographs last week. It is fun to see what you like of your posts as it is not always what everyone else chooses.

There are two easy ways to add pictures on to the discussion.
The first is a full size photo: 1) Click on your favorite photo and bring up its page. 2)Look at the right side of your monitor, and go to the word SHARE (it is below tags) 3) go to the box and copy the long address 4) Come back to the discussion, and then paste.
The second is to have a smaller file size so to keep the site from getting overwhelmed. http://365project.org/discuss/general/1323/how-to-adding-an-image-in-a-discussion.
January 26th, 2013
I like his expression and reflection on the far right.
January 26th, 2013

Gotta love Grandma! :)
January 26th, 2013
I chose this photo because, you don't often a close up of a horse like this.

January 26th, 2013

Just loved the way this turned out... composition, editing. Even better than I'd imagine when planning my daily shot. :)
January 26th, 2013
I like the light and it is just such a familiar snowy scene in this area.
January 26th, 2013
@jannkc beautiful kitty shot!
January 26th, 2013
I liked this one because of the colours of the pens but mainly because it was taken on my iPhone and I have never got a picture as clear as this one on my phone. Maybe I should try and use it more often.

January 26th, 2013
Amy
This was my fave one this week, because its so silly and utterly ridiculous to shoot. I am not as bendy as I like to believe I am :P

January 26th, 2013
Tough choice as I have a few I really like this week, but I'll go with my favourite tree

January 26th, 2013
I think that it would be this one. I was pleased with how clearly the butterfly came out and that I accidentally got my little girl in the shot, too.
January 26th, 2013
This was an unplanned shot that turned out quite well, I think!

January 26th, 2013
This was both technically challenging to shoot and edit. This is a reflection of statues onto a black granite wall that is etched. It is also powerful in its image.
January 26th, 2013
Jim
Didn't have my best week, so I guess I like the color and brightness of this one
January 26th, 2013
The vibrant blue and that one rusty bolt
January 26th, 2013
I really like the strong lines and the depth of this shot. This shot got me my first Fav of my 365 project. It was my 11th entry. It also propelled me to the PP which was very exciting. Thanks to all those who have viewed it, commented on it and Fav'd it.
January 26th, 2013
Here's mine from January 22, 2013. I like it because I love the beach. And being able to spend time at the beach in the middle of winter.
January 26th, 2013

My favorite this week because it was such a challenge getting a clear shot of Porky's face.
January 26th, 2013
I liked this one because of the fun I had getting it and the way it ended up turning out.
January 26th, 2013
With this one, I finally feel like I am getting the concept of abstracts.
January 26th, 2013

Freezing my tail feathers off, we don't often see these little guys around our house.
January 26th, 2013
Using my 35mm prime lens at the car show was challenging - however, I took full advantage of its shallow dof to capture the iconic hood ornament on this 1962 Lincoln Continental:

January 26th, 2013
because it's my first shot using my nifty fifty and i got the starburst!
January 26th, 2013
I like this one the best .... just loved the teardrop shaped ice on the edge of the leaf.

January 26th, 2013
This is definitely mine, simply because it was supposed to make people smile and it did. A bit of sillyness can go a long way :-D
January 26th, 2013
I really liked the late afternoon sun shining on him.

January 26th, 2013
Two from me this week.. Because I have not stopped laughing at the comments on either of them yet (they are well worth a read).

"I have a Bream"

& "Robot Burns"
January 26th, 2013

it was very hard to pick one, made some nice pics last week. but I chose this one because I really liked the lights in the morning.
January 26th, 2013
I like the action, clarity and processing in this shot.

January 26th, 2013
Very atmospheric:

January 26th, 2013
This is my favorite picture, because I came up with the idea on my own and was actually able to pull it off. ( It also involved rearranging my whole living room and moving the couch!)

January 26th, 2013

I like this one more for the reasoning behind why the boy doll is wearing a dress. =)
January 26th, 2013
I posted this pic last week - I just posted it a prior date - I promise I did.
January 26th, 2013
This one because it;s a happy family group hug!!
January 26th, 2013

This one because I stood in the cold for ages trying to get a good shot!
January 26th, 2013
This is mine because it was for my husband's and my anniversary.

January 26th, 2013

Bright and colourful, and I like the bokeh and reflections.
January 26th, 2013

as i was really making an effort to get the position right
January 26th, 2013
I had this idea and it turned out just like I wanted, and that is exciting to me. However, I was hesitant to post it; but the response to it was so overwhelming and wonderful! Another reason I love this community...everyone's always so supportive!

January 26th, 2013
My favorite this week is this photo of a picture my husband took.

January 26th, 2013
This one worked really well, my best crystal ball shot

January 26th, 2013
not up to par with all of the above photos, but I liked the dark blue sky, and the way the moon is centered through the trees

January 26th, 2013
No this is not by best photo ever. But it is a big learning curve for me. Its FILM baby!!!! And I also used a old/new camera.
January 26th, 2013
Because it was challenging and different :)

January 26th, 2013
Don't know why but theres something about this sign. After 27 years in L.A. i still get excited when i see this sign.
January 26th, 2013
@archaeofrog Very clever.I like this one,
January 26th, 2013
I think it was around 8* whenb I took this
January 26th, 2013
I was so touched by the feedback I got from this photo, and was pleased with the result myself:

January 26th, 2013
Ed

A 5 minute burst of inspiration which involved covering my desk drawers at work with A4 paper. I like the processing and how the boots look so worn in ...

Sadly I peaked too soon and it was all downhill after that shot.
January 26th, 2013
I love how this turned out because for me, this is what snow should really be all about (none of that windy, ice in your eyes stuff I had for the last couple of days)!

January 26th, 2013
This is my fave pic as it was a really big deal for me to be brave enough to do a selfie like this!
January 26th, 2013
This is my favorite because iI had a great time watching this grandfather sled down the hill with his grandson. It was precious to watch.

January 26th, 2013
My panorama shot, although it doesn't look very good on this site because it's downsize :(

January 26th, 2013
this one, because I loved it but had this crazy notion in my head that people wouldn't because of the lighting or the angle or that it would be too orange/brown, so I held on to it for a couple days before deciding to go ahead and upload it - to my spare album.... boy was I wrong... people saw it the same way I did.
January 26th, 2013
This would be mine, just because for me it helped me learn new techniques in editing!!! And I was very pleased with the result!!! :)

January 26th, 2013
I'm celebrating that they're back:

January 26th, 2013
This one, because it represents where I want to be with my portraiture. This workshop helped me realize that doing styled sessions with a dressed set doesn't have to be complicated.

January 26th, 2013
January 26th, 2013
Lyn
Because I was SO pleased to get this clarity since it was truly TINY - less than .25 cm.

January 26th, 2013
This one: Firstly because I'm not used to seeing swans where I live and secondly because I'm certaily not used to seeing swans trying to keep the cold out like this.

January 26th, 2013

because i was actually able to capture her smiling in her sleep...i normally have to sit there with my iphone set to video and take a still frame....this was a lucky shot
January 26th, 2013
This was a gorgeous day in general- and I liked this as an addition to the first "Following" picture from last week.

January 26th, 2013

This one. Mainly because my daughter is in it with one of her zany hats, and also because I love this 1950's diner so much. And I find the color palette very appealing. :-)
January 26th, 2013

This was my favorite - a completely unplanned shot. Happily I had my camera in my pocket while in the backyard, when I looked up and saw the plane flying so high across the sky. The air was so clear and cold and the colors so lovely. I was very happy with the results.
January 26th, 2013
This my favourite, not because of the quality but because it is the first time I have seen one of these birds on the ground close up in my garden. Don't forget it is the RSPB big bird watch this weekend if you want to join in.
January 26th, 2013

This one I took today, had this shot planned for a whole. Second attempt at getting there due to the snow. When I arrived it was cloudy and dull, then the clouds opened up.
January 26th, 2013
@victorypuzzle I'm not surprised you got lots of feedback - it's a fantastic shot!
January 26th, 2013
@lyno Wow! What a fabulous shot!
January 26th, 2013
I just like the one from yesterday cos of the very sweet pastel colours :)

January 26th, 2013
January 26th, 2013
this one because of the clarity of the ice and viewing this shot large gives you an experience of the word COLD
January 26th, 2013
This is my fav of the week, it was for my get pushed challenge and was my first time trying to get bokeh, after a day or so failing to get anything I was pleased that I finally got it down.

January 26th, 2013
This one because I actually spent time setting up the object, getting the lighting the way I wanted it (I don't have any off-camera equipment, so it's about moving lamps around), and then making a conscious decision (instead of luck by taking tons of photos and seeing what works) to use DOF to make it as interesting as I could, with some bokeh to add to the interest. So, it may not be my best in terms of looks, but I felt it was a real effort at trying to do something to post.

January 26th, 2013

This is not necessarily the best pic I have taken but I like it because I was so surprised to see a deer in the lane near where I live. It was tucked away in the hedge and gave me quite a surprise! He stood there while I took pics but kept shouting at me and I wondered whether he was hungry because there was so much snow on the ground.

I just thought he had a sweet little face
January 26th, 2013
This film photo and another taken with instant film made the Explore lists on Flickr. I I like the level of detail
January 26th, 2013
One off of my bucket list & if it wasn't for this place & my get pushed challenge I would not have got this to tick off my list. It made me get out of my little zone I have been in lately
January 26th, 2013
Caz
It has to be this one, I was really pleased with it ,I love bluebirds and it made PP !
January 26th, 2013
It has been so cold and dark that it is difficult to get anything decent at the moment but I was pleased with this shot from the weekend.
January 26th, 2013
I was pleased with the response I got for this one. I don't often process in high contrast B&W but it seemed to lend itself to this shot....
January 26th, 2013
This one because I've never taken such a photo with so much contrast before. It was like it was meant to be...my kitty just sat and enjoyed the sunlight and I was thrilled to have an entry for the week's theme.

January 26th, 2013

I was really pleased with this shot as I have been on a bit of an abstract hunt of late and this was just a nice burst of colour and I was really happy that this more creative type of set up worked out.
January 26th, 2013
This because I did it with an iPhone.
January 26th, 2013

because i like the mixture of light and dark
January 26th, 2013
January 27th, 2013
January 27th, 2013
Love the ghostly feeling from this - it wasn't the image I expected from this location!

January 27th, 2013
This one was my most satisfying this week because I've always had a lot of trouble getting good focus with self-portraits, but this time I seem to have managed to get it right.

January 27th, 2013
Probably this one..because it shows what I'm doing most of the time:(
January 27th, 2013
Probably this simple one. We spend our lives working around telephone and power lines. This time I decided to make them the subject of several shots.
January 27th, 2013

I just really liked how the trees were lines up, just a marching line of spindly trees. There was something pretty about it to me. :D
January 27th, 2013
It has to be this - simply because it makes me smile whenever I look at it :)

January 27th, 2013
Because I was lacking inspiration, took this shot and got some followers thinking about trying something new.........
January 27th, 2013
Because I have wanted to try this effect for ages and I finally did it and turned out great :)
January 27th, 2013

This one because it typifies an Australian summers day on the beach
January 27th, 2013
just liked how puffed up this lil fella was, and the snow really added to it
January 27th, 2013
this one's my favorite for this week..i love this shoes and the colors and the idea..it made me smile.. :)

January 27th, 2013
I think it has to be this one (I like how you can kind of see a face in the shadow):
January 27th, 2013
Because I love the depth of field and sense of isolation I got in this photo
January 27th, 2013
"I don't want to set the world on fire"

Just love the contrasting colours of this one :)

January 27th, 2013

It was about 7 degrees Fahrenheit when i hiked down to pond-- all ice (yikes!) to get a photo of this guy :)
January 27th, 2013
I like nature's painting in this image:

January 27th, 2013
@denisedaly Natures creative abstract side- nice.
January 27th, 2013
Because I liked the pose, the clarity and the bokeh...it all came together!
January 27th, 2013

I'm not sure if I love this one, but it's one of my favorites from the week :)
January 27th, 2013
I've been playing around with processing all month. This week it was a whimsical shot and this was my favorite take on it.
January 27th, 2013
Another week with only a couple of pictures in my main album. I liked this one best.

There is a link to the same train car 1.5 years earlier.
January 27th, 2013

I just really like how this turned out- i love the tones
January 27th, 2013
I really like this one of mine. One of only three that I took that day that didn't have people in it.

January 27th, 2013

Because it shows so many things near and dear to my heart and because it turned out how I envisioned SOOC.
January 27th, 2013
January 27th, 2013
This is my favourite this week because its yummy!

January 27th, 2013
Surprisingly not my photo that made the PP this week but this one instead.

January 27th, 2013
Jo

Due to the weather this week I had to think of shots I could take indoors, so this gets my vote because I tried something new.
January 27th, 2013
I liked the white space contrasting with the flowering tree as well as the composition.
January 27th, 2013
I had a couple this week that i liked... but this one i loved...

My cheeky little boy... i just want to squish him to pieces!
January 27th, 2013
January 27th, 2013
This is my favourite of the week for a couple of reasons - the boys were having such a great time on their "sleepover", but also, as of today, half that tree down the end of the driveway is missing due to the storms (was completely across our driveway, a not so nice welcome home greeting from being away overnight, actually cutting our holiday short due to the weather), so it is nice to have a reminder of what it used to look like :)
January 27th, 2013
My favourite, because the photo composed itself in front of my eyes, plus I like taking pictures of photographers:

January 27th, 2013
My kids eating ice creams at 4.30 in the morning at our winter carnival... Best viewed large if you have the time...
January 27th, 2013
This was my favorite image from the week. It was unplanned and just happened. As I was photographing the moon the sun was beginning to set and turned the clouds orange. Also, as I photographed I watched this large orange cloud just pass over the moon so I was able to get a sequence of photos...all the same...but still different.

January 27th, 2013
My Favorite of the week its winter here and at the beach it was me and the seagulls!
January 27th, 2013
I´ll go with this one as I did not quite plan the bird LOL
January 27th, 2013
LIFES SIMPLE PLEASURES
January 27th, 2013
Haven't done much post editing lately. Happy with how this one turned out.

January 27th, 2013
My favourite because it is sooc and I didn't realise how good it was until I downloaded it.

January 27th, 2013
I like this one because of the abstract effect
January 27th, 2013
Has to be this one! Thank you for everyone who commented and fav'ed it, I was overwhelmed. Much appreciated!
January 27th, 2013
I guess it has to be this one, even though I usually prefer full techni-colour, but it seemed to attract a lot of interest and I enjoyed playing with an experimental technique...
January 27th, 2013
I can't decide between three... All bird shots I am afraid!

January 27th, 2013
This has had the best response of all my photos in 2 and a bit years here! Very pleased!

January 27th, 2013
This is one of my faves of a series of Instagram shots I took on this foggy morning at nearby Sliver Lake. I love the several interesting elements in the image plus knowing that there are two (tiny in this pic!) bald eagles sitting in the top of the trees on the opposite shore!
January 27th, 2013
OK I admit it is a bit of a ‘poke in the eye with a sharp stick’ type image, not what you could call pretty, not your run of the mill landscape or portrait, but then I do like to experiment – break the mould, just a wee bit.

This image really surprised me when I saw the shadow of the reflection ‘deep’ inside the picture. This adds an extra dimension to a pretty mundane object – 25 screws – that have just been arranged on a mirror and shot with a flash.

It is the first picture of what might turn into a project within a project – the ‘Mirror–rorriM’ series.

January 27th, 2013
Mel
This is my favourite of this week...
January 27th, 2013
Couldnt choose between this one and the one taken on the 19th, both for different reasons, but in the end i choose the feet... as i mention i hate feet but i love the detail in this coots feet plus theyre really funny characters and he just stood patiently whilst i clicked away.
January 27th, 2013
This was my favorite this week - I had one shot (due to traffic behind me!) and got exactly what I wanted - and a dense fog is not very common where I live.

January 27th, 2013
I have some I like for artsy reasons, but this one has my heart so its my favorite. I love the expressions on both mom & baby's faces. And the lighting was dead on -- no red eye or washouts! Especially nice knowing he had been sick and this was the beginning of the return to his mischief making.

January 27th, 2013
This is my favourite this week - roman broccoli. I liked the way it looks like a shell up close
January 27th, 2013
This is my favourite of the week as I was glad not to drop the camera in the tub full of water!
January 27th, 2013
This one. I love the monochrome appearance and the atmosphere of it.

January 27th, 2013

I think this was my favorite from the past week, I like the color scheme in it :)
January 27th, 2013
January 27th, 2013
I love this because I wasn't expecting it to turn out so well, I like the color pop.
January 27th, 2013
This one of mine certainly hit the spot for a lot of people - I didn't like it to start with but it has grown on me ....
January 28th, 2013
January 28th, 2013
January 28th, 2013
AC
I love the colors, textures, and lighting in this one...
January 28th, 2013

I had a busy week an as a result, only uploaded two pictures this week - not a lot to choose my favourite from. Although it scared the hell out of me to upload it, let alone nominate it as my favourite, I am super proud of how this one turned out. I'm also proud of myself for being brave enough to put it out there.
January 28th, 2013
For me it was a lovely day ♥
January 28th, 2013

I took this for Plan-4-Jan word Love. It was a lot a fun to set up so that's why it was my fav this week.
January 28th, 2013

Felt good to do some editing in the GIMP!
January 28th, 2013
I loved how I caught her in this pose and how the lighting came out.
January 28th, 2013
January 28th, 2013
January 28th, 2013

I love capturing that perfect moment. This happened in this photo. But even though you capture the moment doesn't mean it's a great photo. For me, the background ruins this photo - but it's still my favorite from the week.
January 28th, 2013
My favorite because I love the moon... :)

January 28th, 2013
Mine is this, I was glad that It came out okay. I find doing selfie is not that easy to do, for me at least.
January 28th, 2013
Probably my flicker. I was so happy to see he has returned - I have not seen one around here for several years. Taken thru my home office window that has a screen on it .
January 28th, 2013
January 28th, 2013
Not sure I've got this right, have difficulty in the copying/sharing/pasting thing......! I just love bokeh anyway!

January 28th, 2013
This was my first go at a low-key style like this. I had so much fun and learned a lot.
January 28th, 2013
I like how the reflection off my coffee table acts as the backdrop.

January 28th, 2013
January 28th, 2013

My first clear shot of the moon :)
January 28th, 2013
January 28th, 2013
I am going to cheat and post two because I can't decide!

This one because I was tryign to take pics of my local church, but my boy couldn't resist the temptation to be in the shot!

And this one because I love the colors.

January 28th, 2013
Jen
January 28th, 2013
Think it was this one. It made me laugh...

January 28th, 2013
I love this recent shot of my little grandson who lives in New Zealand, Taken on our recent holiday there.
January 28th, 2013
I like this because it shows an unfamiliar aspect of a very familiar thing.
January 28th, 2013
Because it made me smile massively :)

January 28th, 2013
I think this one - he just looks so ready for winter

January 28th, 2013
because she's beautiful!

January 28th, 2013
different from what I usually do. got a great response
January 29th, 2013
This one because of the beautiful bokeh =)
January 29th, 2013
This is mine because I love photographing flowers and the soft blend of the flowers and colours came together quite well.
January 29th, 2013
I've done mostly close up/macro photos so far. I was so happy to get out of the house, and was pretty pleased with my first time getting a photo of a building.

January 29th, 2013
I spent the week visiting my 88 year old grandmother. She was super self-conscious in front of the camera because she thinks she looks like an old lady. It was nice to capture a moment where she was happy and came out looking like a proud great-grandma.
January 29th, 2013

Wasn't a good week for me in terms of photo's that I'm really satisfied with - this one was the one I'm most happy with - like the detail on the wings - and his hairy bottom.
January 29th, 2013
Love that I was at the right place at the right time to see how he does this, like how the graininess adds to it like a horror.

January 29th, 2013
I don't take many indoor shots, so was pleased with how this turned out
January 29th, 2013
Bev
I'd have to say this one... because you don't see something this beautiful every day.

January 30th, 2013
We had settlement and can finally move into our new home.
January 30th, 2013
This would be mine. This place has a big symbolism for me, and without stating it, it had a great response, and it went to the PP:

January 30th, 2013
for me its this one since I'm a sucker for wide angle shots.
