Here I am having a bit of a play with some eggs. This is a white pigeon egg, it had obviously fallen out of a tree, a chicken egg and an ostrich egg. The ostrich egg is about 100 years old and is one of the only things that survived a house fire (because it was stuffed in a gumboot) where three people were murdered, and with the attempted murder of two others - one of whom was my husband's grandmother!
Well that's a grizzly tale 😮 I actually thought I was about to see a space/ planets shot as I. Was scrolling down the page. Very effective and creative image. I like very much. Was the murderer ever caught? And what were his motives? Or can you not say.
@paul10 It was quite a tale. My husbands great grandfather sold his farm in a farm swap. The other guy then changed his mind and wanted to pull out of the deal. The first night at the new farmhouse there was still staying the vendor, the mover driver, the buyer (great grandfather) and his two daughters 19 yrs, and 17 yrs and his son 14 yrs. (Plus dog). They had a reasonably good evening together, but they think vendor slipped something into men's cup of tea. They were sleeping in the lounge on mattresses together with young boy, vendor whacked them over the head with something then came after the boy. He rolled under the couch to get away.
He then went after the two girls who were asleep in a bedroom. My husband's grandmother heard someone come in and thought it was their father. Then saw a man raising some kind of heavy stick and struck her sister over the head a few times, then came for her. She put her arms above her head to take the blows. The man went out and she heard her sister making gurgling noises. He came back in and she played dead. When he left again she opened the window and climbed out, then ran in the neighbours direction which was only a few hundred metres away. In panic even pushing through barberry hedges. When she got there her brother had also just arrived. He had escaped outside and hidden when the man went after his sisters! The guy also set the farmhouse on fire - razing it to the ground. The two men and 19 year old girl, plus dog all died. The culprit was found 3 days later after quite a manhunt. Had drowned himself in the river.
@netkonnexion They do have lovely organic curves. @olenadole Thank you Nadiya :-) @merrelyn Thanks Merrelyn - I loved the different sizes! I should have found a duck egg as well!! @jesperani Thanks Jennifer :-) @maggiemae Thanks Maggie - I gave a little more of the story above. It really was an interesting one. The young lad (14 year old) actually died from typhoid only a few years later. I was in a bit of a hurry so used what was quickly on hand to get them to stand up - miso paste!! :-)
@dkbarnett That sounds truly horrific! The stuff of nightmares. To think someone could be so cowardly and brutal like that. Sounds like he got what he deserved in the end!
