Yellow lichen on a pier

I took a ferry to Somes Island in the Wellington Harbour. This though wasn't the pier the ferry landed us at but an unused one 100 metres away. I would say no feet have trod on this for some time.

What a sensation find. I sure hop no one walks on that pier ever. It would be such a shame to lose the beauty of that.
