The Denniston Mine is now a historic site with lots of equipment still there. There was a railway for the wagons, where the full wagons pulled up the empties, with water operated upper and middle brakes slowing the progress of the counterbalancing wagons. The incline plunged precipitously 548 metres in a length of just 1670 metres. This photo is one of the wagons.
