Oh dear, weather’s warm yet somehow frosty!

Despite that we headed to the weekly market in Olhao and as with all markets abroad, there’s so many unexpected things to see. Today it was a ten piece band called ‘Versus Tuna’ from the local university. They were excellent - great upbeat music (much needed) and very good coordination with flags and in this chaps case tambourines in mid air! We bought some birthday and Mothers Day gifts in the local market (not the fish one) and later I headed back into the town on my own to photograph the lovely old colourful wooden doors with a mind to creating another montage.

We ate lunch in the apartment - probably the last prawns we’ll have on this trip and as ever they were delicious.

Later in the afternoon I returned to the town - on my own - to take some more door photographs and then to wander around the new marina and onto the salt pans. I like to find flamingoes each time I visit even though the light was dropping and photos were grainy.

I returned to the apartment and we cracked open a bottle of red wine - excellent and only a few euros before each cooking our own massive tuna steak. It’s the first time I have cooked a proper steak (other than frozen from Lidl) and I managed to get it perfect. It was like eating a very good beef steak but healthier.
