This morning we received a very large box by courier and neither of us knew who it was from. Inside was a lovely hamper in a smart lidded metal box, full of goodies from Cartwright and Butler. After some further investigation it turned out to be from our friend John Rusling daughter as a thank you for our support to her and John over the past year since the death of his wife. It was not at all warranted but very welcomed (and some lovely things inside).
Later in the day we headed out to our friends Rob and Sue who moved to Walton on Thames a few months ago. It took quite a while on the buses but we got there eventually. It was a lovely evening and Rob and Sue’s house which is so warm and cosy. We enjoyed home-made Thai fish cakes followed by Massaman curry and finally lime and ginger cheesecake. We consumed quite a lot of alcohol and when we eventually came to leave, I used Uber for the first time which was a lot quicker than the journey there. It was a lovely evening and today’s photo is of a tree, unbelievably in blossom in their front garden.
