Most of this morning was spent making a video on my iPhone to show the problem on the Clubs’ SumUp device and then trying to make it small enough to email to the company.
My next task of the morning was to put up the twenty five posters around Teddington. The day started in warm sunshine as I carefully recorded each location on ym phone but as I continued it started to get greyer and grey until it poured down just as I was putting up the final poster. In a way it was well timed as I was combining my morning out with also attending my postponed (due to Covid) hygienist appointment so I could escape the rain even though I did look rather bedraggled.
Cathy was pleased at my progress although I still hate going to see the hygienist and dentist.
Later in the afternoon Colin and I caught the train up town as we had an evening courtesy of Colin’s grandson James at a Basil Fawlty evening in a hotel in Bloomsbury. We had no idea what to expect but the evening started well ass despite a long walk from the tube, we unexpectedly found a very impressive light installation display. After that we arrived at the hotel and Karen and Ian arrived son afterwards.
The evening started well as we were only charged for half of the drinks we had ordered and turned out very well as it was great fun. Although may of the guests probably cannot remember the television series the first time around, we could and it was very funny and the actors very good. The food was also unexpectedly nice, even the bread rolls that were thrown in the air along with parsley for the soup. We shared a table with four other people and all were very friendly so it was a good evening. We also discovered a bus almost outside of the hotel which took us all the way back to Waterloo which was considerably quicker than the way we had arrived.
