19th April 2023

After the stresses of last weeks exhibition, some time ago I had accepted my friends offer to see if we could retain the winners crown for the Victoria Foundations annual quiz at the Rugby ground in Richmond.

I decided to go by train as I might want to have a glass of something for Dutch courage! I arrived in good time and for good luck I had bought the medal won last year. It was a good evening but the questions really were general knowledge and very challenging. There were thirteen teams in total but sadly we just missed out by literally one point. It was a tie for first place and the two teams were asked tide-break question to decide the winner. We were a little annoyed that the winning team had an additional 3 members than allowed but it was a charity event so not really the done thing to moan.

I left just after 10.15pm and with a very brisk walk, made the train to Teddington which is a lot quicker than the bus.
