In conversation with @caterina and her husband while visiting in their home, I mentioned my espresso cup collection and they gifted me two DeSimone cups! I have been enchanted by DeSimone for years and now I have a pair to sip from while remembering happy times with Caterina and Pier. Take a look at the collage that Caterina posted of her trip to a DeSimone workshop. https://365project.org/caterina/365/2021-01-19
@caterina -- after I commented that your beautiful glass ball would benefit from more space, I believe this would also. But I took this with my phone and got too close. Will have to take another photo of the pair of cups and leave more space next time. Can't wait for you to come visit me so we can drink coffee together.
PS -- It bothered me so much I imported it into PS and extended the black background so it wouldn't be so tight.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond -- you were fast! You responded the second I uploaded the new version and before I wrote about it. And yes, the do produce amazing ceramics that have such charm, such delightful appeal, and I'm hoping to go to Sicily and buy some more!
Thank you Junko! So nice you treasure the memories from your trip to Italy. Regarding the space around tha glass ball, you mean the ball should be photographed from farther away to look smaller? I will try. Thank you for your suggestions
@caterina of course I treasure the special gifts -- and I especially treasure our photos we took together because each one evokes memories! What I meant about my comment on your glass is that the black is so effective a background that I wished there was more black. So you could step back to get more of it in your frame, or do as I did here, which is to import the smaller photo into Photoshop and add a background. The original photo was very tight on both sides because I took it with my phone and I stood very close to get that black background ( I have black countertops but I added a black piece of paper to get the black back in the original shot)
PS -- It bothered me so much I imported it into PS and extended the black background so it wouldn't be so tight.
