Rocky Mountain High, Colorado trip log. Day 11. Friday, August 16.
Cinnamon rolls & scrambled eggs for breakfast.
Places we visited:
Ophir pass (11, 789 feet of elevation)
Telluride
Bridal Veil Falls
Corner house Grille - had a very nice lunch.
Imogene Pass (13,114 feet of elevation) This trail had some very scary parts on ascent including a solid rock wall on the left side of the Jeep and a sheer drop-off on the right side.
We ended up south of Ouray on 550 -on Camp Bird Rd.
On the ride back to camp we saw two bull moose between Ouray & Silverton… I learned that two males can be friendly with each other as long as it is not during the rut and not mating season… then all bets are off as they battle for a mate.
We had homemade pizza for dinner… very yummy. Turned in early… we were very tired.
