The Taieri Express

This train runs through dramatic scenery from Dunedin in NZ to Middlemarch. Not far from my recent photo of the tunnel at Hyde, not far from Middlemarch! You have wide windows for viewing the deep canyons, the fast flowing rivers and the wide open mountain valleys.

For the challenge of landscape (feb14landscapechallenge) Has no date restriction.

A proper train in NZ...this must be a real tourist attraction......I have no idea where Middlemarch is....might check it out for Lydia when she travels to South Iskand with her friend in Late July /August. Can't hire a car as they are too young so need to rely on trains & busses...this might be an option to get to DunedinM

Goodness- that looks like an amazing trip. I think I'd have butterflies in my stomach going over that trestle, but it would be soooo worth it! Jeff and I have always wanted to do a train trip across the US. With one son in Texas now, maybe it will happen! Cool shot!
