I took this photo on Sunday just as the camels were walking across the dunes in a sandstorm. The wind was relentless and everyone was blasted with sand.
I suppose the camels are used to sand in their eyes, but not so sure how the tourists riding on them coped.
I just love how the camels are way off in the distance it really emphasises the vastness of the dunes
Mirage???? I was sitting on a sand dune on the edge of the Sahara in Tunisia once feeling the isolation until the same sight came through. Seriously, nice photo.
Spring in a couple of weeks, so should start to get warmer soon.
@pusspup It is the Anna Bay end of the Stockton dunes. If you trek the 32 km dunes from Anna Bay to Stockton you will end up at the Newcastle end. Birubi is my favourite beach whatever the weather.
