This is my edited verison trying to incorporate your suggestions. I have cropped out the bright fence on the LHS and also a small crop on the RHS which brought the boat onto the third. I have looked at my version of Lightroom and there is just a contrast slider. I think I need to upgrade to LR5 (more expense - LOL!!) I think the colours are more saturated now without boosting the saturation slider which i was told not to use if you can help it? I am thinking an updated course in LR is needed. When I did my first course I had never edited a photo and it was all new to me. I am only scratching the surface of LR. The same goes for Photoshop - very limited knowledge.
I did do a B&W (sepia) version of this shot yesterday. I have also done another one today which i will now upload. Thanks for all your comments!!

Different feel in colour and b/w. The colour really captures the blue and green reflections. Lovely shot

I like it a slightly bit more in colour - it looks so summery! :)
