Eclipse Inn in Winchester by quietpurplehaze

Eclipse Inn in Winchester

The inn, which dates from 1540, has had various 'faces' including that of a rectory.

The decorated bollard seen here & closest to it is themed Matisse: http://365project.org/quietpurplehaze/365/2012-07-08
Love the red border. It really highlights the history of this Inn.

I like the Inn - is that Tudor? The bollard is colourful and fun. I agree with Paula in regard your framing.

@creativeamateur @doblaine Thank you - I'm learning so much about my own history through the questions folk ask on 365!!!! Just had a look on google and found this info: "the Tudor dynasty or House of Tudor was a European royal house of Welsh origin that ruled the Kingdom of England and its realms, including the Lordship of Ireland, later the Kingdom of Ireland, from 1485 until 1603" - so that would include the building of The Eclipse Inn.

Yes, love the red border! I really like the Matisse bollard too! So colourful, he is my favourite impressionist!

@tishpics Be great to have in the back garden?! I love Matisse, too - also Sisley?
