Wow. Awesome colour and capturing that bee is fantastic. It really makes a lovely collage.

That bee is a little "piggy wiggle" - look at all the stamen over him. How gubby! Love the colour and the capture.

I love holly hocks! These are a beautiful shade of yellow. Mine tend towards the pinks and they don't seem to stay true, but I don't mind, they are just such a cottage-y garden plant and are so cheerful! Great bee covered in pollen! Great collage!

@wordpixman Yes, I thought this was quite unusual and different from the hollyhocks normally found in cottage gardens.

@creativeamateur Thank you, I actually got 2 shots of that bee - he was quite oblivious!

@doblaine Yep - I think he was actually a little drunk - thanks for enthusiasm!

@tishpics Patricia, thank you for your lovely comments. Lucky you, anyway - we don't have hollyhocks. I did bring some seed back from Ilé de Re one year - and lost it during the winter! I brought some for a friend too who didn't lose hers but they didn't germinate. We are going again in Oct so.....

What beautiful hollyhocks and great capture of the bee! For some reason hollyhocks don't seem to do very well in our garden but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they improve because I now have 5 plants in my garden at varying stages (3 of which I grew from seed)

@rosiekind Hope your plants will flourish. These were growing in a rather small, poor patch of ground between the bottom of a pub wall and the start of the pavement so maybe they need neglect?!

@quietpurplehaze Mine are not in a terribly good position either so maybe they will flourish next year!
