'a book (or two) I am reading' and 'light and dark'

Both these books are set in 1942 and deal with French resistance to the German occupation. 'Le silence de la mer' was actually published clandestinely in 1942 under the pseudonym Vercors. 'Les Enfants des Justes' is the latest novel of Christian Signol, a favourite author of mine and is published 2012.
I thought the cover images would also qualify for light and dark?!
Will check these titles out Hazel! I believe the subject is still a tricky one in France today.

Well it may well be but I don't know. The Signol would be my recommendation but a bit expensive as just published but I was in holiday mood when I bought it. You can surely buy other Signol titles at a good price on Amazon.

@pyrrhula Thank you - I WILL as I just love the sound of the French language in my head! In the past I've occasionally read a little bit out loud to Jinks, but he doesn't understand at all. (Now you know that I am crackers!!) Joking apart he knows that French, German, Spanish are different from English......
