When I spied this unusual lamp post in Eastleigh I thought it was a piece of abstract art. And then I started to see images in it. But I can't work it out completely. What can you see?
@Cherrill Yes, footprints and what you thought a lobster (at the top?) is how I saw it first, sort of in reverse but if you look again there are walking figures in pairs? I wasn't sure about the camera. - it seems to have a corkscrew on it!! There are two more such lamp posts, one of which is solely (haha!) footprints, the other I didn't have time to investigate as we were running late to visit our friends in my other shot with the Christmas cactus. You'd probably be surprised at Eastleigh now!
lol corkscrew.....that's just wishful thinking!! :-) I reckon its just the flash and some buttons. I still see a lobster :-) Interersting to see what other people say. Yes, I haven't been to Eastleigh in over 15 years I guess.
@Cherrill I can't find info on google either - only how to report a lamp not working + other useful stuff! I'm determined to find out - so watch this space! may be some time.................... the people look as if they are school children - wearing caps etc?
I found something about the lamp posts - the lead artist was Jeannie Driver and the work is called 'Walk in my footsteps' ('completed September 2006 stainless steel lamppost banners. inlaid stainless steel and routed paving slabs.')
Thanks for all your help in making some sense of it!
@ness50@Cherrill@cmt2812 One thing I can hardly believe is that this lamp post has been in Factory Road, Eastleigh since 2006 and it has taken me a whole year of '365 eyes' to notice it!
I'm a little late to the conversation, but I did see the footprints and the children holding hands before I read anything. Can't get the camera part tho. I believe it about never having noticed it before.
@Cherrill A lobster?! A bottle, some children holding hands, a camera and some footprints - now I'm going to see what everybody else has seen. Apart from Cherrill's lobster...
@judithg
I think the lobster is a variation of that exercise where you are on a course (of some sort) and are shown a simple pic and it's possible to see it two different ways. Like sometimes I think the sea is the land on maps?!!
A great find this lovely lamp post art and beautiful captured. .
