That is a pretty bird. I agree with you, birds are hard to photograph. I go to airshows and find planes a lot easier to photograph. Their paths are predictable, but birds are totally unpredictable.

I have the same problem, but not your luck/patience! This is so well-framed, and the bird is lovely, even from the back! :) The photo gives a sense of anticipation -- who/what is he waiting for? :)
so true Hazel, I think I have more shots of the back of the bird than the front, but I like how this is captured, he looks like he is looking down the fence

He was in the garden at a National Trust property so I expect used to visitors - maybe hot too!
