Standen - designed by Philip Webb for the Beale family..

...interior design by Morris & Co, the firm of William Morris. I was surprised to learn that, by coincidence, the plans for Standen were finalized by Philip Webb on August 22nd, 1891. We visited last Thursday on August 22nd, our 43rd wedding anniversary.
This is the south or garden front of the house.
Normally I find the gardens of a National Trust property more interesting than the interior of the house but Standen was a big exception.
