Castle Coombe............. by quietpurplehaze

Castle Coombe.............

..............in the Cotswolds and which is often called 'the prettiest village in England'.

Uploaded in my mono album for May and converted from a colour shot - although there was not too much colour in it as you may imagine.
What a classic, a scene well suited for a mono shot.

really great

Completely charming. I am always curious about why people choose b&w - why did you pick it for this scene?

@teiko

Thanks, Emilie. I didn't pick b&w for this; it was originally in colour. I've decided to post a mono shot in one album each day during May, as a learning exercise really. Some will be converted from colour, like this one, others shot in mono. I've never really liked b&w but already I'm appreciating its virtues!

@jewelofapplegarth

The houses are actually in a terrace although they look as if they should be detached houses.
