Looking through my photo files for a suitable shot to convert to b&w for the current architecture theme, I came across this one taken in a churchyard near Avignon.
I was interested to see an English name on this gravestone and then the title of Alan Bennett's play sprang to mind so I appropriated it for my title.
Much more thoughtful in B&W. Nice composition too and the lady's memory lives on. I like to spend a few days near Avignon in late Summer -- it's one of my favourite cities but I have never found a churchyard.
Neither I nor Ray can remember exactly where it was unfortunately. Used to label everything, then got a bit bored but now, being on 365, I'm conscientious. This shot is from the bored of labelling period!

It does look like sea but I think not as Avignon is quite land-bound.
