it was a rainy morning, sometimes just pissy rain and other times pouring rain. but partner wanted to see the swans and i'm not aversed to that so we drove over. nobody was there but the family was out feeding by the willow bush. it was quite amusing to see father swan pulling down a branch so the little ones could feed on them.
i set up my tripod and camera with the remote shutter so i could take a pic of myself with the swans. it had started to rain so partner went back to the car also to get the food we bought for the family. a woman came by with her little point and shoot and started taking photos of the swan, then watched as i yelled hello to the swans. she was quite amused that the mother swan nudged the babies to swim to where i was standing. when they were in front of me, i started talking to them and the two adult ones seemed to make a purring sound and would cock their heads from time to time. well, i had a lot of blurry shots and none of the few good ones had me in them so, so much for bringing the remote shutter.
thank you so much for your kind visits and comments; know that they are much appreciated.
Oh, thats a shame - none of the swan whisperess! Gorgeous with those reeds in the background and the cygnets seem quite white - I thought they were grey till they got older!
@maggiemae - thank you, maggiemae. one of them is grey, the one behind the mother swan on the left. the two are light coloured. i would guess the grey one is male and the two others are female, or maybe vice-versa.
@pattipeppermynt - it's not the best, mind you. the ones that had better composition were blurry. i'm still learning or getting used to this lens, it has some limitations. photos are either great or crap! thank you, patti.
@678tabby - it is quite a feeling when they came over, seeing that there were other people there and i never had brought them food before. so to warm up to me like that feels kind of nice. it's like they were showing off the little ones. later on a family came and fed them bread, but they always would swim back to where i was. thank you, june.
so wonderful, love you narrative. sorry i missed commenting on this until now. this must be such a wonderful feeling for you to have this family adopt you. how gratifying. also awesome for us to be able to follow the growth of the signets. thank you for sharing their journey with us. fav.
