yup, did the exercise and i ended up at the southwest corner of the intersection of danforth and monarch avenues, where i always cross to get to the subway.
interesting series of photographs i took. i saw that the lights in the direction this car was going was turning yellow way before this car reached this point. i knew he was going to run the red light so that's when i decided to press my shutter. i know it was quite a bit of cheating with the exercise but i got him clearly going through a red light.
you can see three red lights here: the left and middle ones are for the north and south traffic, the one on the left is for the east and west traffic, where the blue car is. the next shot after this showed him right there in the middle with the light behind him red and the two lights on the left were green.
so now thanks to this patterson exercise, i have a photo to accompany my follow-up letter to my councilor requesting that a camera be installed in this intersection as i, myself, had nearly been hit here.
What you fail to understand Vikki is that he/she are exempt from the rules! We have drivers like this over here, they don't need to indicate or stop at red lights, even junctions, not sure how they get their pass though!
Great catch, have a good weekend.
This would have been fun to do in selective color- highlighting the blue car and red lights. I wonder if the driver saw you take the picture. Some folks might jump out of the car and run after you! lol Be careful- but I like that you caught him/her in the act.
Wow....doing a bit of sleuthing, aren't we?! :-) They did install those red light cameras here in San Diego, many people got tickets and some interesting mug blurry mug shots in their cars, there were many lawsuits as their timing seemed to be off, and now they have dismantled them, and gone back to cops cruising for offenders on the go....
