continuing on with colour as one of the two elements of visual design in the book "photography and the art of seeing" by freeman patterson, the book indicates that "the colours in your subject matter also expresses time. A red leaf says autumn; a field of orange-pink grass tells us the sun is setting; a cool, pale bluishness says a summer sun is high in the sky; while a deep, rich mauve is unmistakably twilight. As well as time of day and time of year, colour helps reveal time of life. Although we don't need colour to recognize a person's age, it can support the suggestion of other visual elements. For example, a ruddy complexion suggests youth; and we know a weed is dead when it is brown."
it is almost september and whether we like it or not summer's going to end. there are subtle reminders and indications. during our drive last weekend, there are some trees whose leaves are already turning red, and it is quite stunning to see such deep powerful red amidst the deep greens. this one, however, is of a maple sapling near the pond where my swan family lives. it still has a head full of leaves but the leaves are already red and would in a few more days turn brown.
i'm forever behind. trying to catch up as much as i can. you know eventually i'll end up in your album. thank you for your kind visits and comments; they are so much appreciated.
Super shot, too
