"in restless dreams I walked alone
narrow streets of cobblestone,
'neath the halo of a street lamp,
i turned my collar to the cold and damp
when my eyes were stabbed
by the flash of a neon light
that split the night
and touched the sound of silence"

this is on a hill overlooking the niagara falls. no sunrise this morning as we woke up to about six inches of snow and the whole place was a total blanket of white. i went back to yesterday's vantage point but the falls was barely visible. sought warmth and food up the hill and this scenery was just screaming to be photographed.
thank you, folks, for sending my Christmas sunrise to the pp. it was a nice thing to wake up to. actually i was horrified because it was not the shot i intended to post. i was so sleepy last night when i was posting and all thirty-five shots looked the same to me. but, thank you for your generous favs and your kind comments. i'm humbled and flattered at the same time.
@northy - thanks, kiddo. i heard it's mild tonight. in the mood for a photo trek? i have nothing specifically spectacular in mind as my old brain's ran out of ideas. only if you need company. one thing i'm sure of, not wearing the long coat. :-D
I'd love it... But I am in Sault Ste. Marie for the weekend... Back late Sunday... I'm hopeful that I will have one or two evenings over the next week that are kid-hockey free but I can't chk right now because the team website isn't responding...
Another beautiful shot.... so classic, and so appropriate for this time of year! Thank you for your pilgrimage to the falls, and for braving the freezing weather to take the pictures. We don't get any snow here, and even though I don't miss the cold, I do yearn for some of these scenes in the winter! Beautiful!
