i have always hated wire hangers. we grew up using the wooden polished ones way before the plastic hangers. i have padded and potpourri perfumed hangers, in pastel colours, which i use for my good clothes. sometimes i shudder at myself growing up poor yet obsessed with padded hangers. yeah, shudder! see http://365project.org/summerfield/365/2012-10-12
long before the movie "mommy dearest" was shown, i had a row with my youngest sister, who had the habit of 'borrowing' my blouses without asking me. one day i was looking for one of my nice blouses and found it in her closet. a two-hundred pesos (about $25 at the time) blouse in a wire hanger! i went beserk - blazing eyes, rigid jaws, popping veins and yelled "i hate wire hangers!" i went with my sisters to see the movie and when that scene with faye dunaway (as joan crawford) screaming "no wire hangers ever!!!" came, we were the only foolish people laughing our heads off while everyone was tearing up, remembering that real-life incident from several months before.
for the five plus two's "monster" theme this week. i kept dithering as to whether i would take a selfie or not, but at almost midnight i decided to just do it. so there!
Sometimes there is never a monster model when you want one! So a much nicer model is good to see! I use wire coat hangers to get into cars to steal them!
My mom could be a bit of a mommie Dearest, so I've been woken at one AM to be spanked by wire hangers for leaving clothes scattered on the closet floor. Your picture could trigger PTSD. I never use them for clothes, but I do swear you need some around in case a key gets locked in a car or hair clogs the drain, or you want to roast marshmallows in the fireplace.
@grammyn - just got my jackets from the cleaners last weekend and kept them for the challenge. plus they can be useful for other purposes especially when someone pisses me off. :-)
Seems I have quite a few of them- empty. I don't know why. I don't need them. They take up room I could use for other things. Excuse me, I have the sudden urge to go clean out the extra closet...
