they actually look like some kind of a nasty microscopic amoebic parasites, non? i invented the scientific name, don't you know! but don't ask what it means or it'll shock you!

Yes, they do look somewhat like an influenza virus this way. Hmmm...I kinda figured out the first and third words, but the second isn't coming as easily.
