the main pod by summerfield

the main pod

wow! it's a hazy lazy day today in toronto. the views around the city are all obstructed by the haze. from my vantage point in the office, i couldn't see the top of the tower from the haze. and right now, at 10:10 in the evening, it is still warm.

family activities this weekend prevent me from doing my planned shots for the tower. this photo was taken this afternoon, amidst the haze, from inside our offices. the gold filter of the glass windows plus the haze, made it impossible to get a really good close up, despite my canon's zoom capability. the thing was until today, i did not realize we are that close to the tower. i processed this in picnik to show the details of the main pod.

i zoomed in on the main pod to show where that highly touted "edge walk" which will be offered as from august this year. at the top of the large pod, where those black squiggly things are, that's it. here's a link on youtube if you want to see what this edgewalk is all about:

have a nice weekend everyone.
up close and personal! A whole different perspective, just so we don't get use to all the unusual angles and settings you've been finding! (and now YOU are stalking IT!! ha!)

how awesome that you work so close. Thanks for sharing + the video. I have to admit though someone mentioned its 175 dollars to walk in a circle up there? You know you can go to Vegas to the Stratosphere and hang out up top for 10 bucks.

@cscecil - yes, some days i am the stalker! thank you.
@silverdraggin - $175?!?!?!!!! well, anyone who pays that much to feel acrobatic, my hats off to them. i won't pay a cent to walk up there, thank you very much! thanks, meiska.

I like your processing for this one. Good lemonade! I had a good view yesterday from the ground and you can see the setup for the Skywalk being constructed. Crazy. Anyway, I thought of you while in the Rogers Centre yesterday. Good angles in there, as well! Just a suggestion :) You'd have to pick your times, though. They don't always open the roof and you'll get stuck just watching baseball!

@slang - thanks, sean. the picture was really hazy and i'm amazed with picnik. i just clicked the "auto fix" and i got the result i wanted.

as for the shot from inside the rogers centre, i've done that in january (see january 27). but thank you for your suggestion. much appreciated. hmmmm....i'm thinking fillers!

Another great perspective of the tower! Well done!

@jannkc - thanks, jann. i can imagine walking in there if i'm paid enough perhaps a million or two; but i probably won't enjoy the money because i'd have had a heart attack a few feet before i finish the walk!
@gailreese - thank you, gail.

@patticake - thanks, patti. if i had a lot of money i'd have rented a helicopter for a from-the-top shot.
