This was site #5 on the Beaver Island Garden Tour today. We learned it actually has a higher viewpoint (over the trees to the lake) than Mt. Pisgah, our 'mountain' sand dune. The house is on four levels, covered in beautiful ground covers an done of three structures on the grounds. Typical Beaver Island? Nope, not even a little! We've been spending summers here since 1991 and I had no idea this existed.

This is a great shot and a beautiful vantage point, using the staircase very effectively to lead us up to the house. I'm sure you have taken more shots here...did you perhaps try one with a wider angle (unlikely, you're at 14mm already) or in portrait format to include all of the trees?
I love Beaver Island. I was last there many years ago when my niece and nephew were very young. I imagine it has changed greatly. But, knowing Michigan, it may not have changed at all.
Looks lovely! As I've begun setting up photo shoots for our camera club I'm learning that you can miss a lot of things no matter how long you've lived somewhere!
Lovely landscape.
