Burton-on-Trent by tinley23

Burton-on-Trent

Today my sister and I visited Burton-on-Trent. It is less than 20 miles from where I live but I’d never been before. We had a nice time wandering about but the grey, drizzly weather prevented us from moving far from the city centre. We did get as far as the Andresey Bridge though. It spans Peel’s cut, a channel dug by Robert Peel in the 1780s to divert water from the River Trent to power his cotton mill. We plan to return in better weather for a wider mooch.
Tantalising. I shall look forward to the next instalment!

Haha I didn’t realise you’d taken this, you could have let me hide the shopping bag - oh the shame.....!
Great shot though!
