What's Trending Right Now?

Today I'm happy to announce a trial of a new way to browse the stunning photos on 365 Project.

Introducing the Trending Photos page

Have you ever wondered what the hottest photo is right now? Or maybe you've been overlooked by the Popular page and wish more people would have seen your photo?

The Trending Photos page has been explicitly designed to show you what's hot right now on 365 Project, a way to browse popular photos in real-time.

I've been using this page for a few weeks now and I love what it shows me, you can probably tell how excited I am by this, it's always highlighting amazing photos that I wouldn't have seen elsewhere. It's a great place to discover talented photographers and great shots.

Trending Photos Page

Limited Access - For Ace Members Only

Today we're launching Trending photos just to our Ace members, if all goes well we may roll this out to all accounts, or you can find details on becoming an Ace member.

How are Trending Photos determined?

Trending photos are are automatically selected by an algorithm that identifies photos that are being talked about right now, so you can see the 'hottest’ photos rather than just what’s most popular.

How often is this page updated?

Every 5 minutes or so at the moment, this page is designed to only look at photos with activity in the last few hours, so there will be a more pronounced real-time aspect to this page than the popular page.

Will I be notified if my photo is on the Trending page?

Not at the moment, but if this is a popular request in the comments we'll definitely add this in.

Yesterday I thought it was a great idea but I'm not so sure now as five of the photos are the same as yesterday - still great shots but are they still "hot" 24 hours later. If so how is this different to PP?

Trending is almost a month old - and a great month it's been. I hope other 365ers like it as much as I do. It's a brilliant way to see some of the 'hottest' photos and plenty of them 'cos it's continually changing.

I know it goes against the concept of what is hot "right now" but I think it would be good if you could look at historical trending shots also - even if it was only those shots which made the trending page during the last 24 hrs. They come and go so quickly that if you are away for a number of hours, then you miss the trending shots that have been overtaken by other trending shots.

I think everyone would like a notification if their photo's appear on the trending page. I sometimes wonder why the same photo's are on both the trending and popular pages! Although all are fantastic images, one tends to skip the one or other page. As I am relatively new to 365, I feel at home here. There are so many wonderful photographers/peopl. As a beginner, I am learning so much from all these helpful and talented photographers.

No real need for notification if it shows under your photo. You can look when seeing or responding to comments. And you can browse the trending and popular page daily as they change.
