Many thanks to all who submitted such beautiful collages capturing various aspects of the natural world, we had a total of 111 entries! It was near-impossible to choose the finalists.
Voting is open now and will close this Thursday, February 20. The winner will be announced by Saturday February 22.
Well done to everyone who took part, and best of luck to the finalists! The winner will host the second collage challenge (mfpiac2). He/she will choose the theme and set the challenge rules and criteria.

Ps. Due to an oversight on my part, two collages were included as finalists that had more than six photos in their collages, and really regrettably had to be removed from the thread. I am leaving the numbers relating to the remaining entries as they previously were so as not to affect the voting

Hi Laura...i thought the rules that only 6 pictures were allowed on a collage, thats why it was hard for all of us to choose 6 photos. But No 2 has 9 photos and No 5 has 7 photos, bit unfair.
They are all wonderful collages and it is hard to choose so I have to rule out 2 and 5 because although I love them there are too many photos.

@lauramalone82 you can pull my collage...it's really no biggie :-) I thought of my collage as 6 shots, because I'd intially posted the top shot as 1 shot, but if people feel it's unfair, pull it.....like I said...no biggie :-)

I didn't see where all the people who voted for collage #2 or #5 were tagged in this post so they are aware they can vote for another collage due to the rules (6 photos in a collage) #2 and #5 both the wrong number of photos.
It's so very hard hosting a challenge with all the messages that come in, the rules to follow and checking the dates of the images etc. With so many entries I'm not surprised there was an over sight. Thanks so much for hosting Laura. A FANTASTIC job has been done given the number of entries :)
@k1w1 Thanks Christine, it was late last night when i got the request to amend the original entry and pull the images, i thought it best to do that much before i went to sleep so as not to affect the voting and i was going to let those who had already voted know this morning that they were welcome to revote, thanks a million for the help though! :)
@lauramalone82 Don't worry, someone pointed out to me after I made the collage that I had too many pictures. My fault. Thanks for chosing it anyway, totally flattered.
@axika Hi Alexandra, I feel it would be too late at this stage to add a new entry as it would have an impact on the votes already submitted, so for this week we will have four finalists
@lauramalone82 I'm so sorry Laura. I hope I didn't step on your toes or offend you in any way. If so please forgive me. I have hosted one challenge and I really don't think I want to do it again. I feel so sorry for you having so many images to go through. You really did a fantastic job!!!!
