In ancient times, Cyprus played an important role in the science of medicine.

Datable to first century AD - only found in pafos.
These red clay vessels in the shape of the body were used as hot / cold pain relief - filled with water or oils.
So fascinating to see, the under side fits the body area perfectly.
It’s thought the romans came to the island to be treated and for wellness.
