Where have the last 50 weeks gone? We're already in our penultimate week of 2017 themes!
As we count down to 2018, for many of us, things are starting to feel festive - the perfect inspiration for this week's theme!
From tinsel topped trees to bokeh baubles, the extra sparkle that comes with this time of year makes for some great photography. So whatever you have lined up for the week ahead, we hope it's festive and fun-packed - just remember to be ready to capture the action.
How to enter this week's theme
When uploading your photos use the tag section (on the edit/organise screen) and insert this week's theme tag: theme-festive.
Entry Guidelines: Photos must be your own and must have been taken and uploaded from Monday 18th December until the following Saturday (6 days). 5 finalists will be chosen on the Sunday afternoon (PST), then you get to vote for the winner.
Winner of the 'Motion' theme
Thanks again for casting so many votes for this week's finalists - we're excited to announce @moonmtn as the winner of the motion theme!
We knew this theme would be tricky, and capturing motion is a challenge that so many photographers get hooked on! @moonmtn's winning photo is a perfect example of how studying our favourite photographers and experimenting with our own cameras can really pay off. We love how the movement in this photo helps us almost feel the breeze of River galloping past at the speed of light!
Vote for the 'Depth' theme winner
We loved looking at your amazing entries to the depth theme - and especially love the festive shots that are perfect inspiration for the week ahead!
Using depth of field to draw focus to a particular subject or part of the frame is one of the greatest photography skills to master. Like most people, we simply can't get enough of your mesmerizing, blurry backgrounds!
So, thanks to everybody who entered! We just about managed to choose only five finalists, so now it's over to you! To vote, just reply to this blog post with the number (in digit form) of the photo you would like to see win.
(3) is also an awesome shot
(5 is also great and very seasonal!) And thanks for including mine.
