Ruby in the Smoke by boxplayer

Ruby in the Smoke

Before Philip Pullman was famous. A young adult thriller full of spills and thrills, heroes and villains, and a daring intelligent young female protagonist set in an atmospheric Victorian London. Very good.

Worked from home, nipping out on the bike at lunchtime to return a library book and find chocolates for Valentine's Day.

The number of people killed in the terrible earthquakes in Turkey and Syria is now over 35,000. So gutwrenching. Including Armenian singer Zilan Tigris https://hyetimesmusic.com/2023/02/10/zilan-tigris-armenian-singer-killed-in-earthquake/

3 good things
1. A beautifully bright sunny day.
2. I found chocolates for Dave in Lidl.
3. Foxykins dozing in the garden.

An interesting looking book, I hope you enjoy reading it!

I share your horror at the devastation of the earthquakes which have affected Turkey and Syria. It has brought out a lot of good with teams from many nations involved in the rescue effort.
