Favorite picture of your project Dec. 29 -Jan. 4 and Why

January 5th, 2013
Post your favorite photo of your own project from this past week to share with those that may not otherwise see it. Lets also put WHY or WHAT about it you like.
There were some really great photographs last week. It is fun to see what you like of your posts as it is not always what everyone else chooses.

There are two easy ways to add pictures on to the discussion.
The first is a full size photo: 1) Click on your favorite photo and bring up its page. 2)Look at the right side of your monitor, and go to the word SHARE (it is below tags) 3) go to the box and copy the long address 4) Come back to the discussion, and then paste.
The second is to have a smaller file size so to keep the site from getting overwhelmed. http://365project.org/discuss/general/1323/how-to-adding-an-image-in-a-discussion.
January 5th, 2013
Because I was happy to be out of work in daylight.
January 5th, 2013
I love this one most because it came out exactly like I had hoped!

January 5th, 2013

This little blueberry was a beautiful accident I stumbled upon walking through the park and made what I consider to be one of the best photos I've ever taken. (so far, i hope!)
January 5th, 2013
This is my favorite as I learned how to do holiday bokeh:

January 5th, 2013
For me it's this one .. because it was number 365, because for once a portrait turned out the way I wanted it to (right down to the reflected light from the tree decorations) and because several of my family have told me that this is the best picture they have ever seen of my mum :

January 5th, 2013
This one because it looked like I was on an African Safari rather than in an Ohio suburb. SOOC

January 5th, 2013

My OH and the Princess, because I love them.

My real favourite was my end of year video that I did to start my year two album, but can't post that here :)
January 5th, 2013

I tried my hand at micro waves. I only had one day of sunshine at the beach. This was my very first attempt at processing.

@jannkc
January 5th, 2013
This one, simply because it started life as a humerus comment and became this!

January 5th, 2013
January 5th, 2013
Probably this one, as it was my 366th photo, thus completing my year, and I also liked the lights and reflections of the wet city street...
January 5th, 2013
My favourite is a photo i posted today and took january, last year. So i think it doesn't count. This one i just took and gave me more work and refinement to take just the way i wanted, so it's my pick for the week.

January 5th, 2013
@onie So sweet!
January 5th, 2013
@gabrielklee It is beautiful!
January 5th, 2013
This one because it was the only one that I took when I had some decent light and because everything my puppy does is adorable to me! :)
January 5th, 2013
It was a tossup between the Mormon temple and this one but I keep coming back to this one. I like the peacefulness, beauty, and composition.

January 5th, 2013
After a first attempt which I thought was ok but received some gentle critique, I went back and tried again, and got this:-

January 5th, 2013
January 5th, 2013
January 5th, 2013
January 5th, 2013
Because it is surprising and fun.

January 5th, 2013
This was my favorite photo this week because it was my last of the year and involved several things I couldn't have done at the start of the year.

January 5th, 2013
Gotta be this one of my son & his dog.

January 5th, 2013
@archaeofrog Very good Katie great capture.
January 5th, 2013
Because I'm with my friends:)
January 5th, 2013
Because it was the first time I saw one at my house and because the focus is spot on (view large to see best) and it came out as I could have only hoped for before!
January 5th, 2013
Was lucky to get this shot and it seems so peaceful. Call it my angel bird.

January 5th, 2013
Not the best week for me as shots have been difficult to get and it's dark and rainy outside. I bought myself these tulips and continued with my quest to self teach myself PSE
January 5th, 2013
This one because it meant I had successfully completed year 1 of my project!

January 5th, 2013
January 5th, 2013

New year and new possiblities!
January 5th, 2013
I was very happy with how this image turned out. This image came from the processing of a picture of frost. The frost was on the glass of the glass in my house's front storm door.

January 5th, 2013

I love this because it was totally unplanned.
January 5th, 2013
this sums up the week - snowy and icy and cold:
January 5th, 2013
January 5th, 2013
because of the strong, raw emotion of the image and because its my best composite so far
January 5th, 2013
Bev
It would have to be this one because I haven't done a light photo in awhile and it was weird getting back into it.

January 5th, 2013
This is my favorite picture of the my project. I think it speaks volume's about love between brothers and I love the surrounding scenery in the woods.
January 5th, 2013
Lyn
this one - "undisturbed" - because it represents so well how 365 has changed the way I see my world:

January 5th, 2013
This one, as it represented something quite emotionally significant for me and really like the strength of the final composition
January 5th, 2013
Linda Torrence reply @granny7

This is my favorite picture of the year because it shows the love between 2 twin brothers. I also love that you don't see their faces and the beautiful scenery and the sun rays shining down on them. That signifies the love from up above also. My 2 grandson's who are now 24 and just as close now as they were then.

January 5th, 2013
This little hummingbird spends most of the day in this position on her tree, where she can see me whenever I come in the garden and then make her escape, but sometimes, I am really quiet and I get that capture...
January 5th, 2013
This one I hid in my second album so it didn't get many views, but I really do love it :)
January 5th, 2013

Because the pink makes me happy :)
January 5th, 2013
Because it was the end of a lovely day and because I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time and because this came out SOOC.

January 5th, 2013

It would have to be this photo because the idea of this picture is why I started my 365 project. Only took me almost 12 months to find the perfect day to do it. :)
January 5th, 2013
I love how my daughter's hair separated, really creating mohawk effect.

January 5th, 2013
I just loved the colours in my picture...even if they are slightly enhanced. :P

January 5th, 2013
I will go with this one, as it was such a beautiful day!
January 5th, 2013
January 5th, 2013

This one as I put the most effort into it and it was the first time I had ever shot a smooth water long exposure shot.
January 5th, 2013
Just because it worked out OK ;-)

January 5th, 2013
because it was my first and possibly only ever in the official top 20

January 5th, 2013
I loved how the lights looked with the snow and it's the first shot of mine that made the top 20 list. I was so honored and pleased.

January 5th, 2013

I love the vibrancy of this image
January 5th, 2013
Because it's old film with an old camera and it was a great day!

January 5th, 2013
I was challenged to find sweet window light. Oh how sweet it is=)
January 5th, 2013
@grizzlysghost I think I maybe you new biggest fan=)
January 5th, 2013
@aprilmilani Haha, thanks April! :)
January 5th, 2013
I like this shot because, my dog just pick a perfect place to sit to match the colour of his fur
January 5th, 2013
RIVERSIDE HILL SUNRISE
January 5th, 2013
Because it marks the end of my 366, and because it's another step on my journey to the ideal snowflake shot...

January 5th, 2013

I feel like I've had quite a good week! But this one is my favourite I think.
January 5th, 2013
January 5th, 2013

I love this pic because it feels more like an art piece to me.
January 5th, 2013
I'm in love with winter time :D
January 5th, 2013
Amy
I thought this was one of my prettier shots!

January 5th, 2013
because it turned out just riiiiiight
January 5th, 2013
My friend's new puppy, ubercute :)

January 5th, 2013
My first butterfly shot, bonus he didn't fly away
January 5th, 2013
I have taken a year of photos, and it wasn't until my 365th that I got a full family photo!

January 5th, 2013
I liked this one from yesterday, the cool tones and the cozyness if it.
January 5th, 2013
Because it came out just how it looked in my head

January 5th, 2013
Had lots of fun with this one; used a comp I never would have used before.
January 5th, 2013
This one didn't get a lot of love, but it's my personal favorite for the week.

January 5th, 2013
I love this just for the fact that it was the 1st of 2013 and it was the beautiful view from our holiday accommodation..... oh to be back on holiday :)

January 5th, 2013
Mel

It's a bit of a cliche but I've meaning to get a shot of the baby's sweet little piggies since he was born... only took me 9 months to realise it!
January 5th, 2013
I’d have to say this one. It’s my first half-way decent snowflake shot.
January 5th, 2013
My favourite is the collage of my favourite 2012 shots posted on 31/12/12.

January 5th, 2013
Has to be the Devil Duck - a spontaneous idea, and it came out pretty well.

January 5th, 2013

I took this shot whilst out with my 16 year daughter. She has just started getting interested in photography. I saw this shot on the way back to the car and just had to get it. It was the first time I had deliberately set the camera to B&W settings.
January 6th, 2013

Definitely this one. It was a blast watching my wife and daughter do pottery.
January 6th, 2013
January 6th, 2013
Jim
I really like this one because getting Dylan to smile when I have a camera around is very difficult
January 6th, 2013

I like the angle here.
January 6th, 2013
I am happy with this one because I never took a book photo with the heart and my Christmas lights are in the background. I just thought it turned out nice.

January 6th, 2013
I like the light and how she is looking right at me.
January 6th, 2013
It was a very spur of the moment shot, and I had to tell my kids to stop their cooking so I could snap it, but this is my fav!

January 6th, 2013
He is such a handsome guy.
January 6th, 2013
Because it's one of my favorite things...

January 6th, 2013
This is my fave, because in my almost 5 yrs of living in Seattle, I had never been here before and because of the way your eyes are drawn to looking aaaallllll the way down into the tunnel on the right ...plus the fact that I got yelled by the transit tunnel security while taking the shot with my iPhone to "PLEASE STAY BEHIND THE YELLOW LINE!" lol!)
January 6th, 2013
January 6th, 2013
January 6th, 2013
I have just returned to 365 after life threw me curveballs. This is a photo of our home , my new happy place :)
January 6th, 2013
Mine has to be this one, simply because it got 115 views and not one person mentioned the little 'additions'.

January 6th, 2013

An extra from the 1st January, I've picked this one because it is the start of my new 365.
January 6th, 2013
Jo
I love the softness and light in this and because it is sooc and made it to the popular page.
January 6th, 2013
January 6th, 2013
I like the colors of the water, the ripples in water and the fact that the bufflehead is actually in focus coming in for his landing. Love the little orange leg too.
January 6th, 2013
Here's my favorite of the week titled "Fireworks":

January 6th, 2013

Was inspired to do this type of shot after seeing one similar by another 365er. Was happy with the colours and focus I got with this one. Also got some positive comments.
January 6th, 2013
January 6th, 2013
I like the colors and the glistening tree tops. Such a pretty sunset that day.

January 6th, 2013
A grab shot that worked out really well
January 6th, 2013
I love the colours here and the place is one of my favourites too. Loch Lomond where we go every New Year.
January 6th, 2013
January 6th, 2013
January 6th, 2013
I believe this one is my favorite for the week. It was an impromptu-get-in-the-car-fast-and-find-a-vantage-point shot and I love how it turned out. The sunset the evening before was actually prettier, but the cloud formations on this night and the silvery look to everything was very pretty.
January 6th, 2013
Probably have to be my kitty...
January 6th, 2013
January 6th, 2013
Ed

I just like it!
January 6th, 2013

for nostalgia. it's my last surviving blown glass bauble.
January 6th, 2013
January 6th, 2013
Caz

It has to be this sunset as it got the most favs, which I was thrilled about, thanks everyone :)
January 6th, 2013
Two minutes into the new year.

January 7th, 2013
I like the beauty of this one and the memories of a recent trip with a friend
January 7th, 2013
January 7th, 2013
this one :)
January 7th, 2013
January 7th, 2013
Because I have never done a low key shot before :)
January 7th, 2013
I love the colors and working with the Lensbaby Composer with macro adapters.
January 7th, 2013
January 7th, 2013
January 7th, 2013
Terrible weather lately so have been taking a lot of photos indoors. I was pleased with this oil bubble one.
January 7th, 2013
Because it was very peaceful, I was on my own and it was my Dad's birthday
January 7th, 2013
Because it has multiple bursts of light that represent energy to inspire me when I feel down and the words are a New Year resolution for me.
January 7th, 2013
I was at a loss for a daily picture, so threw this together. It turned out quite interesting.

January 7th, 2013
January 7th, 2013
New Years Eve Fireworks

January 7th, 2013
I have always wanted to capture a cat with it's tongue hanging out but had never succeeded as it's a moment that doesn't last long. I was stalking my cat with the 50mm 1.8 that I had just received never expecting that this opportunity would present itself! It's my first prime lens so I had no idea how it really functioned. This was within the first 5 images I took with it.
January 7th, 2013
Was really pleased with this close up of my best mate

January 7th, 2013
I was given a macro Get Pushed challenge and was really happy with this shot of a flower pistil. I wish I could say I noticed that it looks like a ballerina before I shot it but alas.. it's awesome what still life in a photo can reveal that our eyes overlook!

January 7th, 2013
This one, for a couple of reasons. I collected a bunch of my favorite shots from 2012 and put them together in this collage. December 31st was the first day I hadn't picked up my camera in over two years. I felt it deserved a break. January 1st, I had it out again and took 100+ shots. No rest for the weary. ;-)

January 7th, 2013
Finally got a well focused photo at f/1.8
January 7th, 2013

Simply because I finally figured out how to keep his attention on one thing. :)
January 7th, 2013

I could watch this thing for hours.....
January 7th, 2013
Like this one
January 7th, 2013
This was my favourite - I loved the colours and the fact that the dragonfly sat still long enough for me to take the photo!

January 7th, 2013
I'm a bit behind the times in processing/posting for the last few weeks - but here is one I am really happy with. I was surprised it turned out as well as it did, as the SOOC was nothing special.

January 7th, 2013
This one, because I managed to overcome my fear or taking photos in public :)

January 7th, 2013
January 8th, 2013
I guess I'll just go with the last official pic of my project for last year...

January 8th, 2013
It has to be this

But I prefer this (can one have 2 favs?)

Decisions,decisions!
January 8th, 2013
I did not plan to take a photo in this park but on my way back to the car I saw this composition which I then edited with texture in snapseed...this became my second photo of the day on Capture Wisconsin...is now a screen saver on a gentlemen's computer who's mother passed before christmas and found it comforting...and have had two offers to purchase canvas prints
January 8th, 2013
I like this one because I didn't see it with my eyes, but thought a long exposure might work. Fortunately, my camera's LCD picked it up great.
January 8th, 2013
First time traveling to a big city with friends for nothing more then some fireworks and a part of 400,000+ lol, and it turned out awesome! Seattle is definitely one of the best places to ring in new years in the northwest U.S.!!!!
January 8th, 2013
Chilly New Year's Morning - because it looks as cold as it felt

January 8th, 2013
Despite a busy week, had a chance to slow down and capture this sky with it's beautiful colors.
January 8th, 2013
I was so thrilled to find a bug to shoot!
January 8th, 2013
January 8th, 2013
I was pleased this came out alright as I got a few funny looks whilst hanging around muddy puddles as everyone walked past
January 8th, 2013
January 8th, 2013
I went with my last shot of 2012. Wishing everyone all the best this 2013! :)

January 8th, 2013
I love this one because I got my f/2.8 to focus right on my eyes!!! ALL BY MYSELF!

January 8th, 2013
The lighting was just right to get the shimmer and detail of the hummingbird's feathers
January 8th, 2013
January 8th, 2013
i love this one!

It's just simple photo but I love it!
