Wild water by dkbarnett

Wild water

On the way home I called to Waiwakaiho to check out the surf. The waves were really wild. This photo was underexposed but after tweaking exposure, etc in photoshop I rather like the result.
Looks really wild I like the slight ting of pink it looks like a sunset/sunrise but looking at the time can't be ... nice edit

Great drama in the waves but the light in the sky makes this for me

Lovely shot. We used to swim in the Waiwakaiho River when we lived in New Plymouth back in the 60s

@julzmaioro Thanks Julia - and no it was a mid morning photo. I was actually trying to do a much slower shutter speed, but I have issues sometimes with my bulb shutter release and it doesn't stay open. That is why this ended up being only 1 second and far too dark. However, I do quite like the way it turned out anyway!
@fbailey Thanks I liked the little bit of light too.
@littleconnie @dide Thanks so much
@paul10 Thanks - it is certainly moody. The day itself was very dramatic with huge seas.
@vignouse Thank you very much Richard.
@yorkshirekiwi Thanks Carole I agree with you.
@merrelyn Thanks Merrelyn
@dulciknit The image is much more ominous looking than it actually was but the waves were very dramatic.
@moonmtn It was a very stormy sea!
@joysfocus Sometimes the tweaking and processing is very necessary!!
@craftymeg Thank you very much Margaret!
@tracie8266 @elisasaeter @777margo Thanks so much for your lovely comments.
@jgpittenger Thank you Jane I really appreciate your comment.
@taffy Thank you Taffy - I actually learned quite a bit from this shot - I guess mistakes do this sometimes!!
@thrumylenz I think New Plymouth will be a very different place now than it was in the 60s - still a great place to live though!
@jamibann Thanks so much Issi :-)
Thank you @robz
Thanks @hrs
