8th March 2023

Today we were up and ready at a decent time as Mum and Ian had promised to take me to see the Eden Project, about an hour and half from the house. I hadn’t realised that it was quite so far and as soon as we arrived we had a cup of coffee and a biscuit from the flasks in the car.

It really is an amazing place with two large biospheres, one dedicated to the Mediterranean and one to the tropical rainforest. The entire of the project is built into an old chalk pit and was covered in spring flowers and we even saw the bumble bees out in the flowers.

Luckily, being a weekday and non holiday it was really quiet so we were able to enjoy lunch on site (my treat). In the afternoon we waked in the very hot and humid tropical biosphere - took my camera some time to lose the condensation - and we even climbed all the way up to a viewing platform overlooking the entire place - very impressive.

On the way back there as a massive rainstorm which made for challenging driving although luckily it was not e having to do it. I seem to be developing cold symptoms which is very annoying as I have been spraying almost non stop to avoid it!
