We were up early this morning as Colin finally has his dental appointment to start the crown procedure. However just as we were finishing - our early - breakfast he had a call to say that the dentist has had to go to hospital and therefore his appointment was cancelled. This was quite a disappointment.

However, what it did mean was that I could meet with Sarah earlier than planned and head into town to hopefully see the Freddie Mercury exhibition at Sotherby’s Auction House prior to their 40day auction of all his belongings. In the event the queue was down two streets and we estimated the wait would be 2-3 hours. We were rather disappointed but decided it was just too long to queue. Instead I had researched another gallery - the Halycon gallery. This was truly amazing. The artwork was all created by Dominic Harris - a fine artist who then evolved into a artist. The work was interactive and unlike anything I have seen before. We were able to disturb digital butterflies and have them fly in 3D around us. We watched ‘statues’ come to life and react to our movement and there was a trio of Arctic creatures - fox, hare and polar bear who were amazing and again reacted to us standing before them. If I won the lottery I would buy a house with massive walls and buy the trio of animals!

We were sorely in need of a coffee after that and so headed to the Mercado Metropolitan which I have read about but never visited before. It is an amazing location and we had massive croissants with coffee and it was then that Sarah told me that she is planning to move down to Wareham in Dorset. This came as a bit of a shock although I do know she had wanted to do this fr many years - a bit of a sad end to the day.
