Beef Wellington was a common fayre at Regimental Formal Dinners when I was serving in the British Army and I loved it. Since I left, in 2005, if Carole ever asks “what do you want for dinner?” I always answer “Beef Wellington” and I never get it. We’ve bought ‘ready made’ from a few butchers and they’re not a patch on what the military chefs produced
Anyway, today I gave in and made my own ……. and it was bloomin’ gorgeous.
Well done you, these look amazing. Funny but we had home-made chicken kievs today. I've never made them before but they were much better than the bought ones - quite fiddly though! Our dinner looked very much like yours only with kievs instead of beef wellington.
It looks delicious, well done. Never made beef wellington and we used to have it in the Mess too. But I do make chicken kievs regularly and they are delicious too. @busylady
